My Top Amazon AU Picks This Prime Day — With the Science Behind Each One

Prime Day is a discount event. It's not a reason to buy something that doesn't work. Here are the five things on my list this year — all backed by research I've already broken down in full.
I don't do generic "Prime Day deals" content. Every product here has already been through my full review process — dose verification, PubMed research, honest verdict. This is just the shortlist, with the science summarised and links to the full breakdown if you want to go deeper before you buy.
1. Magnesium Glycinate — for sleep and recovery
If you train hard, sweat a lot, or drink coffee daily, you're almost certainly running a magnesium deficit. The clinical data on magnesium bisglycinate shows measurable improvements in insomnia severity, deep sleep, and REM sleep — not just subjective "I feel calmer" reports. This is the first thing I'd stock up on this Prime Day if sleep is your weak link.

2. Berberine+ with Ceylon Cinnamon and Milk Thistle — for blood sugar and metabolic health
Three ingredients, three distinct mechanisms — berberine via AMPK activation, Ceylon cinnamon via insulin receptor sensitisation, milk thistle via hepatic insulin resistance. I covered the full trial data on all three separately. If you're an endomorph managing energy crashes after meals, this is the formulation I'd point you to.

3. Xiaomi Smart Band 10 — for tracking what actually matters
Most fitness trackers oversell their accuracy. I went through the validation studies on wrist-worn heart rate and sleep tracking before recommending this one. At this price point during Prime Day, it's a genuinely rational entry point if you're not ready to spend WHOOP or Garmin money but still want data you can trust within a reasonable margin of error.

4. PROIRON Resistance Bands — for training anywhere
The biomechanics research on resistance band training is more robust than most people assume — comparable strength outcomes to free weights for a lot of hypertrophy and rehab work, at a fraction of the cost and footprint. If your training environment is inconsistent — travel, small apartment, home setup — this is the equipment I'd prioritise this Prime Day.

5. What I'm not buying this Prime Day
Discount pricing doesn't change the evidence for a product. If something didn't have a strong science angle in my full reviews, a lower price tag this weekend doesn't change that. I'd rather you buy one of the four things above than five things because they're 20% off.
The biotype angle
If you're endomorph-dominant and managing energy crashes or sleep quality, prioritise the magnesium and berberine formulas. If you're ectomorph or mesomorph and your limiter is training consistency or data feedback, the resistance bands and tracker are the better spend. Don't buy all four just because they're both on sale — buy what addresses your actual constraint.
